Bamboo makes its sink debut

Bamboo has proved its value as a versatile and sustainable material in flooring, kitchen countertops and even towels. Now comes the Moso bamboo sink ($700) from Stone Forest, the Santa Fe, N.M., company best known for hand-chiseled granite vessels for bathrooms and gardens. The new sink comes sealed and waxed, but the bamboo does require regular maintenance to remain watertight and to keep its luster.
